I usually don't use this blog as a promotional tool, but I was definitely honored to have been invited to participate in the special feature of this DVD set (which is due for release on November 14)... and I was knocked for a loop that my name is on the back of the box. I was expecting to be lumped into a "various Superman scholars/authors" notation, but all four of us were actually named. Here it is, courtesy of TVShowsonDVD.com:
As long as I'm getting personal, I should probably explain what's been happening with this blog... or, more specifically, why this blog hasn't been happening much. In short, a number of factors have prevented me from giving this space as much attention as I'd like. My home computer crashed for a time. My scanner stopped working. I got a new computer at work, which doesn't include the program that allows me to make DVD captures. And, most of all, real life keeps getting in the way.
Perhaps, since this is a blog that focuses on old TV, I can resume a full slate (for me, anyway) of posts come the fall. I certainly hope so. There's much more I'd like to say here. Meanwhile, if you're a new visitor, please peruse the previous 6 months of archives; if you're a regular, you could do the same and call it "summer reruns."

I had seen the TAOS dvd info elsewhere and clicked on your blog to get some contact info so as to say Congratulations! Glad to see you have it posted as well.
There is much valid criticism of the Warner set, but I cannot fault their choices of talking heads. I think it is so great and fitting that both you and Jim Nolt have participated.

I just wanted to compliment you on "My Name's Friday" - a really first-class, well-researched book, very well done.
I am working on a book about the late actor Charles McGraw. I noted your comments about Webb casting McGraw for the original "Dragnet" radio program in 1949 as Chief of Detectives, Ed Backstrand. You stated that McGraw left four weeks later and was replaced by Raymond Burr. Although Webb kept a lot of people close, I don't think McGraw worked for him again until the pilot of "O'Hara, U.S. Treasury" in 1971.
If you have any info about Webb and McGraw that was not in your book, could you please share it with me?

I too am looking forward to meeting Mike at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention in September. I noticed he is scheduled to host a presentation about Superman on radio and television. I remember seeing Mike in a segment of Unsolved Mysteries years ago, and a recent Superman TV special because of the movie this past summer.
I have heard positive feedback from my friends who attended the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention and I don't want to miss all the fun. The movie room kicks butt. Did Mike have a hand in choosing the films for the movie room?
